Silicon Valley Goals
I had an inspirational lunch yesterday with a friend, whom was also a college classmate and a former colleague. He recently accepted an awesome position as a software engineer over at Docker in San Francisco, California. I’m sad to see him go, but I’m also very excited for him. He achieved a goal that I also share — to be able to work in the Silicon Valley, the mecca of our profession.
Not only is he a good friend, but he has become a mentor. Since our days at Rackspace, he has helped me grow as a software engineer by providing valuable feedback and instilling confidence in my abilities and ideas. It’s great to see his hard work and persistence pay off. I wish him the best of luck.
I had to put my new job search on hold temporarily. There were some personal matters I had to take care of over the last month. I made it a priority as it was the best and only time to sort everything out before committing myself fully towards my next opportunity. I’ll share more details about it in a future post.
I obviously want to get to the level where my buddy is at. I believe I am capable and ready.
I just have to continue believing and leveling up each and everyday.
